This route which offers a mixture of running on hard and softer surfaces in quieter surroundings seemed to suit my aspirations this morning. I also thought that I might see a crane or a deer at that time in the morning before human presence disturbed them. I was unsuccessful in seeing either but I did do a little bit of exploration around the banks of the Don in the Denmore Country Park area. My hope was that I would find a new and viable running route. What I discovered would be pleasant for walking but is not suitable for running.

Route Map - I call this Route 10

This was not strictly speaking Route 10 as per diagram on Google Earth. A short detour (also shown in a map below) was added which perhaps added a hundred yards or so in terms of distance and considerable more than that in effort. The detour took me round the banks of the Don to the private Grandholm bridge. This detour is not a viable running route and so it will not be added to my list of possibilities for the future.

The detour is shown in the map below. Compare with detailed Route Map 10 above to discover differences.
