Speakers The engineer within is forever planning design improvements for all manner of mechanical and electrical systems. The implementation is however another matter - too often it is left at the planning stage. I did however get round to building a set of floor-standing speaker systems around 1976. They have been much modified and given 'a new set of clothes' at various times over the last 25 years. I suspect that they may be the speakers I will always have within my main system irrespective of other electronics surrounding them. The following links are made available to anyone who has a hankering to make a DIY set of speakers. Not an easy job but it is fulfilling. Components: Wilmslow Audio Interesting sites: David Dlugos I have a particular interest in KEF speakers from the 1960s and 1970s. The KEF drive units from that period were used widely across the HiFi trade and such was their quality that they are still much in demand second-hand today even through they were discontinued as a product years ago by KEF. The few pages I have published here about speakers brings me enquiries from around the world as so little information seems to be available about the KEF speakers of that time, their drive units and their crossover circuits. In order to make it easier for people to gain access to basic information about the KEF C Series speakers and their drive units I hope to publish any information I manage to acquire - and so kep an eye on these pages. The following links are a start. If you have any pertinent information which you feel would be of interest to others please let me know and I will publish it here.
